FNet Basics

FNet is a temporary testing network running the future incentives protocol.

Its purpose is to enable ecosystem participants to test block incentives related projects ahead of the protocol upgrade.

FNet will be reset on a regular basis. At most, every three weeks.

FNet nodes need to run a specific nightly version of algod , that may be upgraded when the network resets. This will allow FNet to track incentives development progress as it happens upstream.

Each new instance of the FNet network will have a distinct genesis file from all previous instances, which will differentiate the resulting genesis hash.

You can rely on the genesis hash value to disambiguate between different instances of FNet through time. The network ID will be fixed as fnet-v1.
